Mobile Learning

e-learning which stands for electronic learning enables distant learning. Unlike traditional learning methodologies, e-learning blurs the time and graphical boundaries. Currently, UCSC is using moodle to implement the concept of e-learning or the distant learning. There are four moodle instances are running for undergraduate students, postgraduate students, BIT students as well as FIT students.

The project, m-Learning, leverages the existing model based VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) to incorporate the mobile learning facility for the students, thereby, providing increased flexibility and agility. With this project, students can interact with moodle using SMS as well as they can access the moodle through their mobile phone, either using the mobile browser or an mobile application provided.
